Eggs...

Like most people, I have a healthy collection of

 rotten ducks and quails eggs knocking around the house!? 

I recently found a lovely vintage set of

 weighing scales in the charity shop and thought 

they would look nice with my Raw Ingredients feature this week. 

Prepping for my recent shoot for You Magazine,

 I found some old-fashioned pegboard and natural clipboards on-line, 

which remind me of my school days and

 I used them as backgrounds here.

Scion Fabrics and Wallpapers...

Whilst scanning Scion's website for their latest collection Wabi-Sabi,

 I  came across their brilliant interactive

 moodboard section called 'Inspire'.

 For all you lovers of colour and pattern, please take a look.

 I'm a big fan of the team at Scion since

 their hugely successful launch in 2012.

 As a trained textile designer,

 it's wonderful to see a British company with

 a keen environmental awareness develop a brand

 which is going from strength to strength.

 I first featured Scion after

 their launch almost one year ago to the day

-my second ever post-

so we are both exactly 1 year old!!

Spring blooms...

Spring seems to have been a long time coming and just as blossom starts to make an appearance, we're suddenly in the grip of another freezing spell! Last week I worked on a commercial shoot and afterwards brought home with me possibly the largest bunch of flowers ever to be transported on the tube! I couldn't bear to see them go to waste and photographed them the next day whilst they still had some life in them!

Mini Makes...Valentines

Happy Valentine's Day...

I have a nice collection of paint tester pots from Little Greene in the studio,

 so I thought I'd make some cards for Jon and the kids

 and try out a few fun ideas!

Launch... VVRouleaux Spring 2013

Spring 2013 from VVRouleaux...

Back in 1990, Annabel Lewis set up the now cult

 and award winning ribbon emporium, VV Rouleaux in London.

 It attracted attention from both the fashion

 and interiors world alike.

 Ribbons were suddenly elevated to the status of

 fashion and interior accessory,

 rather than just the humble 

gift wrap or hair accessory.

Working closely with students fresh from college,

 sponsoring graduate collections and

 setting projects for degree courses,

 Annabel has maintained her close link between

 industry and people from all walks of life.

One such student was Julien MacDonald...

Her firm belief was that

 'there are no barriers between fashion and decorating, home and catwalk.'

The Marylebone branch now stocks over 20,000 metres 

of satin and grosgrain ribbon 

and can only be described as a visual feast for the eyes.
