Launch...Rockett St George

Little Black  Book...Rockett St. George

Two friends, Lucy and Jane, who spent most of their time
'decorating and at car boot sales,'
struck on the idea to set up a mail order business together.
With Jane's experience in PR and photography
 and Lucy's in retail, the combination worked;
they set up Rockett St. George in September 2006.

They now have a team of 15,
3 warehouses, 3,500 products and a stunning new catalogue.
I have been a fan of their individual and eclectic
selection since the beginning and I think
their Little Black Book is a fantastic success.
Congratulations Jane and Lucy!

A visit to....The Conran Shop, Marylebone

The Conran Shop...

For those of you who are out of 'town' or even out of the country,
when you are next in Marylebone,
the recently redesigned Conran Shop is a must-see.

First opened in Marylebone High Street in 1997,
The Conran Shop played a leading role in the rejuvenation
of an area in central London that has now become
a hub for independent retailers, cafes and restaurants.

The latest addition to the store is a stunning,
 light-drenched rooftop apartment,
featuring an eclectic mix of original art,
 vintage finds and unique collectibles,
all displayed in inspiring roomsets with
the panache you'd expect from the Conran team.
There is even a fully working kitchen area,
ready for press shows and special events.

More of a lifestyle store, than just a shop,
you will also find a children's shop, lighting,
textiles, gifts, e-tech, music, fragrances, candles,
a flower stall and a simple, but stylish cafe.

The shop now truly has the feel of
a mini department store, engaging the shopper
with a visual feast of beautifully curated pieces.
 Can I move in please?!

Have you ever seen feather dusters and utility room products diplayed so artistically?!

behind the scenes...garage shoot with Surface View...

As the saying goes, 'when the cat's away, the mice will play!'
Jon took his little TR4 to work in the glorious sunshine we've been having recently,
which meant I could sneak into the garage
with just a few bits and bobs to shoot!

Back in January I asked Surface View to provide two
of their products for my You Magazine Vintage Botanicals shoot.
Today I'd like to show you their gorgeous
birch ply print with George Forster's botanical drawing,
painted during Cook's second voyage between 1772 and 1775.
You can choose to have your favourite design
on a variety of backgrounds, from canvas, prints and posters,
to murals, tiles, wall hangings and stickers.
