heals s/s14 home collection...

Would you believe that Heals began trading as bed-makers in 1810,
started by John Harris Heal in Rathbone Place, London
and subsequently five generations leading at the helm.

In 1818 the store moved into 203 Tottenham Court Road,
then the centre of Regency London's furniture trade,
offering its customers the opportunity
to view the mattresses being hand-stitched
and constructed in the feather dressing mill behind the store.

It was John Harris Heal Junior who oversaw
the construction of the purpose built shop at 196-198 Tottenham Court Road,
then the largest department store in London
and where the store remains to this day.

Heal's foray into furniture design and retailing
began with Sir Ambrose Heal in the mid 1890s
and the rest, as they say, is history...

There's a fascinating insight into
all 5 generations of the Heals family,
on the wonderful heritage page on the Heal's website.

Back to today, and a few of my favourite
stunning shots from the new S/S 14 range for you to enjoy!

  2. As someoen who is not from the UK, I only heard of Heal's when I started blogging about interior design. Ever since I was really smitten by their great images for their campaigns - always beautifully styled and very spot on regarding what is currently trending or popular among design interested folks. The S/S 2014 images are one more proof of their good work. Thanks for sharing, Caroline!
