E-zines

Heart Home Spring 2014...

Heart Home was launched  in September 2011
by 3 design-savvy friends over a glass of wine after work.
Spotting a gap in the market for an on-line title
specializing in British, home-grown talent inthe interiors field,
from textiles, crafts, furniture and everything in-between,
Carole, Arianna and Daniel came up with the idea
of setting up their own title alongside their full time jobs.

Fast forward 3 years this September
and this hugely successful e-zine
is now edited full-time by Carole and Arianna
from the UK and Italy respectively.
You can now get a monthly edition with the brand new I-Pad app,
so please do pop over to their fabulous site here.

I produced these shots for their Spring issue and was
thrilled when they picked the birdcage shot for their front cover.
We were lucky enough to be able to use
the warehouse space at Out Of The Dark's Workshop,
run by Jay and Jade, who's inspiring house we shot just a
a week earlier. Please check in for the next post in a
couple of days for a feature on that.

Meanwhile the full feature on Jay and Jay's home can be seen
over at the magazine now in the Spring 2014 issue.

urban jungle bloggers...
on the shelf...

This month's theme for the fantastic Urban Jungle Bloggers
is 'on the shelf or window sill.'
I used these wall display boxes on a couple of shoots recently,
but when they're not being used as props,
they sit in front of the window in my home office!

Plants and succulents are a constant at home
(not always healthy and alive!),
but the way they are displayed and containers they are in
depends on which shoot I've used them on.
The jelly mould succulents and turquoise chair
just came back from work with me last week-
I'll post some pictures soon!

If you love plants, then join the #urbanjunglebloggers-
just follow the links below!

heals s/s14 home collection...

Would you believe that Heals began trading as bed-makers in 1810,
started by John Harris Heal in Rathbone Place, London
and subsequently five generations leading at the helm.

In 1818 the store moved into 203 Tottenham Court Road,
then the centre of Regency London's furniture trade,
offering its customers the opportunity
to view the mattresses being hand-stitched
and constructed in the feather dressing mill behind the store.

It was John Harris Heal Junior who oversaw
the construction of the purpose built shop at 196-198 Tottenham Court Road,
then the largest department store in London
and where the store remains to this day.

Heal's foray into furniture design and retailing
began with Sir Ambrose Heal in the mid 1890s
and the rest, as they say, is history...

There's a fascinating insight into
all 5 generations of the Heals family,
on the wonderful heritage page on the Heal's website.

Back to today, and a few of my favourite
stunning shots from the new S/S 14 range for you to enjoy!

dwell spring/summer 2014

For the latest S/S lookbook feature,
we have the 2014 Dwell furniture range for you.
This High Street chain offers a range of stylish, but affordable pieces,
with their latest collection described as
'a mature approach with an element of fun.'

There are some great retro-inspired pieces
and a few fun pops of colour for the Spring season.
Pieces combine elements of natural wood, leather,
solid marble and colour blocking-
I particularly like the look of the boundary sideboard in the last shot-
a stunning combination of grey and pink!
Dwell is particularly well known for its space-saving
and storage solutions and even took part in
a furniture challenge episode of The Apprentice last year!

You can see the full S/S range on the www.dwell.co.uk website.

Have a great weekend and see you next week!
