launch...issuu homebarn lookbook

homebarn lookbook on ISSUU...

I have been a huge fan of homebarn since beginning my blog in 2012 and the vintage elements of Trend Daily are due, in no small part, to them.

Last Summer, Sarah, Sally and I discussed the idea of putting a lookbook together to give a flavour of a few homebarn products in situ. Over a period of a few weeks I gradually filled my home (actually Jon's garden shed and garage), with items from the barn. Grabbing moments in-between work, the school run and the few sunny days when we had them, I took pictures in the garage, kids' playroom and Jon's garden shed/office and finally managed to produce enough shots for our lookbook.

Collating the pictures, copywriting and page layout took place over a period of two weeks with the very talented team at The Narrative (soon to be featured here on Trend Daily). The photography was a steep learning curve for me and even more so for the Narrative team dealing with my largely ill-cropped pictures for the pages, but we finally made it. Needless to say, there are elements we could change and improve on in the future, as with any design process, but all-in-all we are pleased (and relieved!) with the end result; thanks to a huge team effort from us all. It has been a great experience trying something new and ready for more exciting projects in 2014!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    1. Hi Geraldine! After so long promising to have a meet up year, I said to Tina that this year it WILL happen!! I thought perhaps either a morning meet at HomeBarn and then back here or vice versa, or maybe that's too much all in one go??!! They'e about 25 mins from here, but there is a lovely pub just over the road with a nice little garden too. Either way, perhaps July to hopefully get some nice weather; Will and his wedding will be done, so no stress for him; and before the kids break up for Summer! xx

  13. Just lovely. I published my first online magazine in mid-december. It was a fly by the seat of your pants, do it now or never do it kind of thing. It was a lot of work, and like you, there I things I will change in the next issue (like give myself more than 2.5 weeks to put it together!) but I'm pretty happy overall. congrats~!
