Resin Dipped Mushrooms etc...

The brilliant Mary Portas has done,
and continues to do, more than her fair share
in raising awareness of the British High Street,
and the importance of supporting small businesses.
 Great Missenden is emerging
as a shining example of local, independent
shops opening up and not only surviving, but thriving.

Here are a few purchases I made
a couple of weeks ago-some books and frames
from the charity shops (which I also used for an earlier post here
and some gorgeous resin dipped mushrooms
that I found in one of our brilliant home and gift shops 'Big Sky'.

  5. Mary Portas - goodness that woman is a human dynamo! I really adore all these pieces - the mug is lovely and I'm left wondering what exactly the ceramic thing is in the 5th picture - it has a very wonderful texture to it.

  6. You are so talented, Caroline; both your photography and styling is so effortless. The ceramic mug looks especially great next to the rough texture of the bark, which also feels very seasonal. Love it! xx

    1. I agree Mel-I hope we manage to bring small shops and businesses back to life-slowly, but surely-huge supermarket chains really don't help, but I have to admit to shopping in them as much as the next person... Thank you so much for your lovely comment again-it does mean a lot. Have a great week-even though your first day's coming to an end now!! :-)

  14. I love how you combined wood, mushrooms, blue hues and shells and thus combined an earthen topic with a maritime twist. It's the styling counterpart of the gourmet choice 'Mare i Monti' :-)
