A Visit To...

The Home Barn...

Last week, WillIgor and I took a very cold and snowy trip over to Marlow, Buckinghamshire to meet the team at The Home Barn. With snow coming in through the roof beams and the log burner to warm us all up, it was quite a magical experience. I took a few snaps with my phone and camera (yes Sarah, I really should have used your tripod!) We warmed up afterwards in front of the fire at the very lovely Queen's Head gastro pub. All in all, a very lovely day...

In 2010, sisters-in-law Sarah and Sally Wilkie found a derelict barn in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire and knew immediately it would be the perfect environment for their new business venture. With a keen eye and natural talent for sourcing vintage items nationally and internationally for their own homes, Sarah and Sally have gradually amassed one of the most individual and eclectic vintage collections in the Home Counties.

With backgrounds in art direction, interiors and fashion design, their talent shines through, not only sourcing, but also commissioning local craftsmen and artisans to produce bespoke items. Whatever you want for your home, the girls will undoubtedly be able to find it for you.

There are also many National Trust properties to visit in the area, including Cliveden, Hughenden Manor, Waddesdon Manor, Greys Court and Nuffield Place. More than enough for a weekend away!

  5. Oh Caroline when I read Will's post and he mentioned that you were there, I couldn't wait to see the photos and you didn't disappoint! I love the wire lockers, I just admired one the other day in one of my favourite stores here, it's from an old english bathhouse. What an adventure you all had in this lovely barn, I would have loved to have been there! M x
